Why do we offer yoga at re:sculpt?
At re:sculpt personal training, one of our fundamental beliefs is that we should all aim to experience “all-round” fitness. What do we mean by this? We believe you should use different forms of exercise regularly within your workout training, so that you use different muscles in varying ways, and continue to challenge your body and your mind. We call it hybrid fitness training, and it helps prevent injury, burnout, boredom, and plateauing of fitness levels.
Yoga is a really great form of low-impact exercise, that builds strength, stretches muscles, mobilises joints, and helps to reset and focus your mind. It is a great addition to any active lifestyle, letting you exercise in an effective and positive style of movement, without putting too much stress on your joints. A yoga workout is also a great style of exercise for absolutely any fitness ability. So, whether you’re a complete beginner, or advanced practitioner, there will always be something for you to gain from a yoga session.

FAQs Yoga in Belgravia
Can I practice yoga if I’m pregnant?
The short answer is “yes”. Yoga can help ease discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as back pain and leg pain. It can also help lower anxiety levels and help with sleeplessness. Always check with your GP or qualified medical practitioner before undertaking exercise when pregnant, and ensure your instructor has full knowledge of the “dos and don’ts” for pregnant women before joining in a class.
Should I join in yoga if I have an injury?
This really depends on the injury you have. Yoga workouts can be a fantastic form of rehabilitation exercise as it is low impact and can be modified to all levels. However, you should aways get clear advice from a medical professional on your injury and what you can do and what you should be avoiding as you work towards full recovery. There may be some styles of yoga class that will be absolutely brilliant for your healing process, and others that just won’t be suitable right now.
Do I need to bring any equipment to my yoga session?
We would recommend having your own yoga mat, and this doesn’t need to be a top of the range, eye-wateringly priced one. Any yoga mat will suffice to start off with. It can also be a good idea to have a small hand towel with you and a bottle of water.
Do I need any previous experience or a certain level of fitness to join in?
Absolutely not. The great thing about yoga is that anyone can do it. Every pose can be modified, and every single person who joins in will gain some benefit from the practice. Yoga is one of the most “welcoming” forms of fitness there is. You won’t find any judgement, just acceptance, everyone is there to experience the positivity and overall feeling of wellness that yoga brings you.
How much space do I need when practicing yoga?
You need the space for a yoga mat, and that’s it. Your whole yoga workout takes place on the mat and doesn’t move around the room. This makes it one of the most accessible forms of fitness there is. You will need space to raise your arms overhead, so take care of any ceiling lights that are low-hanging, but other than that, you’re good to go. Even pets are welcome on the mat 🙂
