What is Rebounding?

What is rebounding and how can it benefit you?

What is it?

First and foremost, rebounding is SO MUCH FUN. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. Rebounding is a form of exercise routine you perform on a mini trampoline. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’ll just be having a little bounce around though. These workouts are seriously going to get your blood pumping and your muscles burning. Popular with both beginners and the more advanced, workouts can be tailored in their intensity. We’ve done the research and listed the top benefits below for you.

What are the benefits?

Rebounding is a form of low-impact exercise. It is, therefore, easier on the joints and less likely to cause joint injuries.

You can start with basic exercises, such as jogging and jumping jacks, and you can ramp it up with the use of hand weights, direction changes, squat jumps. The list goes on. It’s varied, it’s fun, it’s effective in burning calories. This is a continuous, full-on, cardio workout.

Rebounding is fantastic for improving your balance and coordination. You only have a small area to move around on, so you’ll quickly learn some spatial awareness!

According to a study published by the Journal of Sport and Health Science, rebounding has been shown to develop stronger bones. This is, therefore, a great form of exercise for females as they age, and the effects of the menopause start to kick in.

Another bonus for rebounding is the strength it may help you to build within your pelvic floor muscles. Bouncing around can be challenging for some at the best of times. Regular rebounding practice will get you working those inner muscles to help control your bladder.

This might not be something you’ve ever considered before with other forms of exercise. Rebounding is really good for lymphatic drainage.

A good rebounding class will have you really pushing down into the trampoline with squats and keeping low with other moves. This will seriously work your hamstrings, glutes, calves and thighs. Your legs will be toned to perfection!

Did we mention that rebounding will take you back to your childhood? You’ll have such a fun workout! This is, therefore, a fantastic form of exercise for stress relief. Your happy hormones will be bouncing around with you for sure. You will finish this type of workout flying high, radiating that ultimate “feel good” factor from within.
