Set your intentions
With 2 weeks until the end of 2021, if you haven’t already done so, now is prime time to set your intentions for the year ahead. Making plans and goal setting is important in life. There are many positive reasons and side-effects you will experience in your life from having them. Let’s look at the key reasons why this is.
Focus
Setting goals gives you focus. You stand a far better chance of achieving things when you’ve given them proper consideration. You will actively make decisions for your future. This means you give yourself a stronger sense of direction and purpose. Unfortunately, we can spend an awful lot of time drifting aimlessly through our days with no clear purpose of what we are trying to achieve. This can result in wasted energy and leave you feeling tired and drained. With specific goals in mind that you want to achieve, your days will take on more structure. You will automatically feel more energized and positive.
A measure of progress
Completing a goal allows you to acknowledge the progress you are making. Depending on the end result you want to achieve, you may also be able to set mini goals along the way. As you complete each of your goals, you can see how far you have come. This in turn, will increase your sense of accomplishment, feeding your positivity vibes and self-confidence. Clear goals and the process of working through them will help with your self-esteem and self-belief levels.

Set your intentions, reach your goals
Commitment and accountability
Writing down your goals will give you a sense of commitment. Your brain will automatically kick in to give you a higher sense of self-accountability. Sticking to new goals can be a tough process. They can be challenging and when you first set them, you might feel like they are going to be impossible to achieve. But you will be surprised at what you can accomplish within your life. We truly are capable of so much more than we sometimes give ourselves credit for. When you set your intentions, try writing down the goal in a place where you will read it every day. This repetition will help with your commitment levels.
Motivation
Without motivation in our lives, we can lose our own sense of purpose. Our confidence levels can dip, and we can experience low moods. Having clear, defined goals will motivate you and inspire you. You are giving yourself an end point to aim for. This will increase your “get up and go” mentality. You stand a better chance of getting things done when you know what you’re aiming for. Depending on how much your goal is going to challenge you, you may also find that your increase in motivation will help improve your daily performance levels. You will up your game to meet the challenges you have set yourself. The resulting satisfaction you will feel is priceless.
