BENEFITS OF BALLET FITNESS
Becky Barrett talks with Natural Health magazine about the benefits of Ballet Fitness.
“The use of your ‘turn-out’ muscles, (where you rotate your legs outwards from the hips), takes control and targets muscles that other exercises, such as burpees and squats, just can’t reach,” says exercise
coach and former ballet dancer, Becky Barrett. “A ballet workout will build long and lean muscle, improve your posture, and work your whole body in a low impact way. It will also help improve your
mental focus, because to do it well, you have to concentrate on your muscles at the same time”.

“However, before you head online to buy your tutu, it’s a good idea to get to know the basics. Once you’ve
mastered these, you can develop into more difficult exercises whilst minimising your risk of injury. If you’re struggling for balance to start with in these exercises, hold on to the back of a chair or your
kitchen worktop for added support.”
